Baked French Toast

Family and friends are starting to snicker that I haven’t fixed my oven yet. But not having a working oven makes me appreciate going elsewhere for the weekend and having the pleasure to enjoy the deliciousness of this amazing BAKED FREAKING FRENCH TOAST! Yum yum yum… YUM! It is boiled brown sugar and butter madness drizzled over egg-soaked Italian bread slices and then baked for about an hour until crispy brown on top.

Here’s a zoom in so you can see how the top became all crispy, which was my favorite part.

Happy Easter!

I am hosting Easter Brunch at my house and decided to make marshmallow krispy birds nests. These are so fun and tasty. I made the rice krispy treat mix as ordered and then molded the gooey mixture into cupcake tins, I molded a little hole in the middle and placed Cadbury chocolate eggs *yum* inside. All the guests can have one and they make cute decoration next to the bagels and cream cheese! Its so spring-like too.

Paas Egg Color

It’s amazing what 99 cents can do for two dozen white eggs. I had so much fun coloring these eggs. Paas makes so many different packages of egg coloring kits…glitter, swirl, vibrant, maybe even more. I stuck with the traditional cheapest pack and I’m impressed.   I used three tablespoons of vinegar along with ¾ cup of water and waited for the dye pellets to dissolve (about 3 minutes) then gave each egg a nice colorful bath for a few minutes each. Believe It or not I didn’t hard boil the eggs first!
